The \u2018community\u2019 beneficiary in this case is the dispersed (not local) \u2018community of enquirers\u2019, practitioners, students and other parties who are interested in semiotics.<\/p>\n<p>Semiofest is not being run as a profit-making venture. The way we profit is through new ideas and the connections made between people. We profit through being involved in organizing an event pioneering a fresh, new forum for discussion of applied semiotics.
