Since 2016, she’s been a lecturer at UPF. In 2013, she attended the CSP in Design for Innovation Strategy at IED Barcelona. At the end of 2007 she started her own company, through which she offers global communication solutions. In 2009, along with semiotician Ximena Tobi, SemioticaStudio was launched. It’s a company which offers semiotic and cultural analysis for social, trend and market research and also, professional training in these areas. During her career, she’s worked as a communication consultant, journalist and translator/interpreter.

Gabriela is interested in communication in a broad sense and tries to learn everything she can, through courses and work. She loves new technologies, cinema and literature. She reads as much as she can and also travels whenever she’s got a couple of free days. Gabriela was the general coordinator of Semiofest 2013 Barcelona. She attends this unconference every year, wherever it is. Gabi writes:

“I loved the first edition in London 2012, both the feelings and learnings from it. That feeling made me think about hosting the following edition in Barcelona 2013. Semiofest opens the doors to many, many ideas and experiences on semiotics apart from the traditional academic one. The spirit of Semiofest is of really sharing knowledge, experiences, learnings and this just keeps growing… It’s not only the fact that every time I go to Semiofest it makes me a better professional, but that it also makes me happy!”
