Mariane Cara is a Semiotician with 20 years of professional experience in visual communication and trends analysis. Since 2013 she runs her consultancy company Comunicara, managing advisory projects with semiotic approach for Brazilian and multinational companies.
She holds a Ph.D in Communication and Semiotics from PUC-SP University (Sao Paulo), and has studied Media Sciences at Braunschweig University of Arts – Germany. Her research interests converge between the areas of Cultural Studies, Visual Studies and Media Studies, focused on Digital Era. Is visiting professor in postgraduate programmes and research member at Sociotramas – a group dedicated to study the social media environment.
