Let us introduce briefly, what are the options.
Tartu Semiotics Training Day on June 1 – 100€
Did you know that Juri Lotman was commissioned to do applied research by the Leningrad University of Aerospace Instrumentation for the preparation of Soviet Union’s space program? In fact, most of his theory has been born out of case studies and applied research. The training day will include an introduction into the core concepts and methods of Tartu Semiotic School with practical examples.
Training Day also includes Semiotic expert analysis training session.
Semiotic analysis is a matter of interpretation. How rigorous can that be? In Estonia, we have a long and extensive experience with semiotic expert analyses conducted for legal disputes. We have developed an approach that is rigorous enough to stand as expert testimony. However, the scope of application is much wider than the legal disputes and can help to overcome the impression that semiotics is a mere play of interpretations, sometimes expressed by the clients.
Free lunch and coffee breaks are included.

The tour will take 4-5 hours after we conclude our conference, together with a bus drive. Please note that the Guided Tour is not included in the price of the conference.
